Top SPAC Sponsors: 2026 League Table

The sponsors behind the SPACs, ranked — by capital raised, deals completed, and track record across the blank-check universe.

In a SPAC, you're not just buying a shell with cash in trust — you're backing a sponsor's ability to find and close a good deal. NextTrack ranks 1,281 SPAC sponsors in a league table built from the underlying blank-check data: how much capital they've raised, how many deals they've completed, and how their track record stacks up. The count refreshes on every rebuild.

Why the sponsor is the SPAC

A pre-deal SPAC is a promise: the sponsor will use the trust to acquire a real business at a fair price before the clock runs out. Everything about whether that promise is worth a premium comes down to the sponsor's incentives and history. A sponsor with a record of closing quality de-SPACs is a different proposition than a first-timer or one whose past deals cratered after close.

That's why a league table matters. Ranking 1,281 sponsors by capital raised and deals completed turns "trust the promoter" into something you can actually evaluate.

How to read the rankings

Two dimensions do most of the work. **Volume** — total capital raised and number of vehicles — tells you how established a sponsor is and how much market access they command. **Completion** — deals actually closed versus liquidated — tells you whether they finish what they start. A prolific sponsor with a low completion rate is a very different bet than a selective one that closes almost everything.

The honest caveat, which NextTrack keeps in view: closing a deal is not the same as a *good* deal. The table is a starting filter, not a verdict — pair it with the post-deal performance of each sponsor's completed combinations.

The 2026 sponsor landscape

With 1,281 sponsors ranked, the league table spans the large, repeat franchises that dominate SPAC issuance and a long tail of one-and-done sponsors. The most useful sort is by completed deals — it separates the serial operators from the opportunists. The full league table, alongside every SPAC each sponsor has run, is in the app.

Where the data comes from

The sponsor league table is aggregated from NextTrack's SPAC dataset — itself built from SEC EDGAR S-1/424B4 IPO registrations, 8-K deal announcements, and DEFM14A vote materials — rolled up by sponsor with capital-raised and deal-completion metrics computed across each sponsor's vehicles.
